Asymmetry

{Sweater: Improvd}
{Shorts: Lily White, Watch: Fossil}
{Bag: Oryany, Shoes: Vaneli}
We always strive for "perfection" in our looks, but sometimes the physical traits that are deemed imperfect make us unique.  My girlfriend has just recently recovered from an episode of Bell's Palsy-a neurological disorder causing facial paralysis that left her with a slightly crooked smile, which can go unnoticed by others.  She's very self conscious about it but I think she looks pretty regardless.  I have 4 division lines on my left pinkie finger that make me look as if I had one extra joint there.  Some might find it weird but I think it looks interesting ;).  Let's embrace our imperfect traits because they really are our trademarks.  If this sweater's hemline was to be symmetrical, I would not have gone crazy about it ;).  What is your imperfect physical trait that you've grown to love over time?

  1. I used to hate my thick eyebrows and muscular calves, but now I'm so glad I didn't mess with my vrows! And I've realized how much strength my calves give me in sports and I'm grateful :)
    Lovely post! And wonderful, imperfect sweater haha

  10. A load of things are not perfect but what did I really embrasse? Maybe the fact that one of my eyebrows is more arched than the other. So when I sign something for my friends I put a smiley with just one eyebrow arched which evokes a grin and at the same time the smiley becomes somehow personnalised ;)

  14. So true! Love the post. I don't notice most imperfections that people notice in themselves. I try to look at their plus points. Love the colors in the outfit and the vest. :)

  23. So interesting about symmetry! I've heard lots of theories about how symmetrical faces are suppose to be the most beautiful, but I've always thought beauty laid within the flaws of someone's appearence making them unique :) Cute sweater!

  35. LOOOOVE YOUR ASSYMETRIC SWEATER!!! ♥
    I love assymetrical clothes!! ♥
    When I was a kid, I had such a habit of buttoning my shirts in a assymetric way, not on purpose, i just sucked at buttoning up my shirts LOL
    And now I see that some people, on purpose button their shirts the "wrong way" making it look asymmetric. And it's like...damn! I used to do that! LOL

    Nice blog, I think I'm a new follower. :) I love the way you think :D

    Oh! Thanks for your comment on my sandals i'm currently loving post!
